Homeless are HARRASSED in Pattaya

City workers in Pattaya have been confronting homeless people after complaints from some residents about the growing number of makeshift shelters around the town.

This week Nikom Sangkaew, from the mayor’s office, visited Soi Korphai in South Pattaya with social workers to address the problem.

He claimed that homeless people pitching tents and erecting makeshift shelters could lead to traffic problems and accidents.

One local resident, Pirom Klumsung, reported that tramps and vagrants were causing problems in the area by blocking some entrances and leaving litter strewn around.

And, of course, our new favourite – she suspected that they maybe spreading the COVID virus because of their unsanitary conditions.

Well, the mayor’s henchman was having none of that and promptly ordered his workers to tear down the tents and remove the structures.

He failed to mention what he would do for the homeless people or where they could go next.
