Thais now realise foreign tourists are key to survival

Enough of this nonsense...

A new poll has revealed that over 90% of the people in Thailand want to see the country opened up again to foreign tourists.

It seems they starting to understand how much foreigners contribute to their societies and personal incomes.

They say that this is not only to see the tourism industry booming again but also that the whole economy, in one way or another, benefits from foreign visitors.

Fully opening up again will put money back in their own pockets, reported Daily News.

This new support for what is described as an ‘open door policy’ came via a Superpoll conducted among all levels of Thai society between 17th and 20th March

The title of the poll was ‘Opening the country – getting out of crisis.’

Over 90% of the population also felt that now Thailand has a vaccine program they know how to live with the consequences of Covid and have the medical infrastructure to cope with it. (continues below)

The same 90% also say they want to see an end to the current political violence, an end to what they called the ‘gravy train’ and be rid of corrupt politicians at all levels of government.

They want a democratically elected government who will not ‘side with the MOB’ and instead open up their country and allow the economy to thrive once more.

They might also have said they would like to see world peace, an end to drink driving, no more violence towards women and a small pot of gold at the end of each rainbow.

Instead the un-democratically elected government of Thailand has only announced a ‘cautious approach’ to re-opening the country somewhere between April 1st and October 1st, depending upon which government department you are listening to.
