Girl buys iPhone online and receives a box of milk

Girl buys phone online, receives milk and Bhuddist Amulets.

A Thai girl bought a phone from an online seller and received a box of milk and 3 Buddhist Amulets instead.

This is yet another warning for readers not to sign for the receipt of anything from an online source until the contents of the package have been inspected.

The victim, named Rachdaporn, says she is still shocked and disappointed by the experience.

Rachdaporn had seen a post on Facebook offering a cheap iPhone 8 Plus priced at only Bt12,900. The advert had many good reviews from happy customers.

It seemed to good to be true and after contacting the seller she transferred a down payment of Bt1050 into a numbered bank account.

The following day a parcel arrived, which she signed for, but when opened she found only a carton of milk and three Buddhist amulets.

Rachdaporn immediately tried to contact the seller only to find herself blocked from sending messages.

After reporting the matter to the police, and finding out that the seller is continuing to run the Facebook advert and respond to inquiries, Rachdaporn has decided to go public in an attempt to warn others of this latest online scam.

It is not known if the police are bothering to do anything about it.
