Thai gov’t collect personal data of ALL VISITORS

The #Thai government will begin collecting the personal data of all foreigners visiting the kingdom, which will be kept for 14 days.

All foreign nationals who enter Thai kingdom from entry ports of international airports must now download AOT Airports apps in their mobile handsets before approaching the  immigration and passport control desk.

They must enter their name, passport number, contact number, email address and accommodation address.

This data must be produced before the immigration officer on duty at passport control counters.

The Thai authorities say that the personal data of foreign travelers will be kept for 14 days from the date of entry.

On March 11, WHO declared the COVID-19 pandemic and also Thai government declared the virus as the 14th deadly ‘severe and rapid transmission infectious disease’ as classified by their 2015 Infectious Disease Act.

The Thai government is reportedly conducting strict immigration and visa processes as precautionary measures for preventing and containing the transmission and spread of this deadly virus.
