Famous entertainment venue in Banglamung raided, hundreds of tourists fled

A popular entertainment venue, CLUB ONE Pattaya, was raided in the early hours of yesterday, October 23rd.

A number of drugs were found and confiscated while roughly 200 Thai and foreign customers escaped.

The raid began at around 3:00 AM. on Sunday by officials from Pattaya City Police Station, Chonburi, and Region 2 police. Upon arrival, a number of tourists, estimated to be around 200, were found dancing and drinking.

The authorities then ordered an employee to turn off the music and a drug examination on all customers.

But while the officers were examining, one male customer began shouting and refusing to be inspected. Then, chaos began when hundreds of tourists tried to push through the guards’ defense lines and fled from the scene to escape the inspection.

Due to less officials than customers, most tourists managed to force their way out.

The official search continued and a large amount of alleged drug-like objects were found inside the venue. An entertainment venue manager was initially detained for further interrogation, although was not immediately named.
