VIDEO: 8-foot python bursts through ceiling

A Thai man’s bathroom break turned into a nightmare after he discovered an 8-foot python dangling from the lavatory ceiling.

Shop assistant Nop Powin, 35, had been visiting the loo at his restaurant in Phitsanulok, northern Thailand, when he stumbled upon the giant snake, which had apparently smashed through the ceiling in search of food, the Sun reported.

The live python – estimated to be at least 8ft long – had entered through the roof and was on the hunt for food.

After being disturbed, the vicious creature appeared to get itself into a knot.

The frightening video footage shows it struggling to climb back up through the hole in the roof. (scroll down for video)

A shaken Nop watched on in fear as the serpent tried to escape, continuing to record the shocking video for more than four minutes.

Unfortunately, when the terrified employee last checked the bathroom, the snake was nowhere to be found.

The shop assistant now fears it could be lurking inside the restaurant – ready to strike at any moment.

Nop said: ”I need the local snake catchers to come and find it, but nobody has been yet.

“I’m scared the snake could come back and attack me.”

Pythons kill their victims by stunning them with a bite before coiling around their bodies and suffocating them.

The python can then swallow the victim – very occasionally humans – whole.

Earlier this year, a schoolboy was strangled to death by a massive wild python that pounced on him while he was hiking with his friends.

The 16-year-old, named Alfian, was walking ahead of his four mates to reach a mountain waterfall in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, when he was attacked by the vicious snake.
