More wind and rain predicted across the country this weekend

The Thai Meteorological Department is warning we still have some rain ahead, in the northern and southern ends of the country.

They report that the active low-pressure system from tropical depression Son-tinh is still leading to torrential rain for the North and the North-east of Thailand.

“People should beware of severe weather conditions and stay tuned for the weather forecast. Affected areas are:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan and Tak.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom.

For the southern par of the country the weather man (or woman) says we have a wet weekend ahead in some parts, including Phuket, along with strong winds.

“The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand with outbreaks of isolated heavy rain likely over the East and the South. Seas will likely reach 2-3 metres high in upper portions of both the Andaman and the Gulf of Thailand.

All ships should proceed with caution and small boats stay ashore. The coast of the East and the western South should watch for inshore surges up to July 22.” – TheThaiger
