A British pensioner living in Thailand was stabbed by his jilted girlfriend when he tried to break up with her, it was claimed.
Wasana Kande, 38, allegedly grabbed a 9in kitchen knife and plunged it into Kim Fuller’s stomach in a fit of rage.
The 67-year-old pensioner and his partner were at his apartment in Pattaya, Thailand, when she allegedly lashed out.
Police claim she confessed to the crime and told investigators that she attacked Mr Fuller when he tried to dump her and kick her out of his home.
Kande fled the scene at the Diana-Estate Condominium on Friday night while Mr Fuller was rushed to hospital.
Officers arrived at around 7pm shortly after the attack and found blood on the walls.
Police said Kande was arrested nearby with a bloodied grey crop top and she confessed to stabbing the Brit.
She told police that Mr Fuller wanted to break up with her and demanded she leave his house – which caused her to get angry and attack him with the knife, it was claimed.
Kande was pictured pointing to the weapon while being walked on a re-enactment.
Mr Fuller, originally from Blackpool, Lancs., was visited by police at Pattaya Memorial Hospital on Saturday morning as part of a press conference, in which officers delivered a ‘get well soon’ hamper.
He told them: “I’m so thankful that you caught her quickly. I’m very impressed with how quickly you did.
“I’m not feeling great, today. But I’m still alive and I’ll be better soon.”
Police Major General Nantachart Suphamongkhon said that Kande had confessed to attacking the pensioner.
He said: “Wasana Kande was arrested on suspicion of using a 22.5cm long kitchen cutting knife to stab the British man and leaving him seriously injured.
“Mr Kim Patrick Poole Fuller had a wound to his abdomen and was taken to hospital. The condominium was empty when we arrived apart from blood on the floor and a stained top.
“Wasana was hiding in the neighbourhood but she was found and she confessed. She said that before the incident she became angry and grabbed the knife and stabbed her partner once, until he fell down. She changed clothes and ran away.”
Police chief Apichai Krobpetch added: “We will always protect anyone who is the victim of crime and we will be there to punish the offender.”
Doctors said that Kim was out of danger but would be kept in hospital until he was fully recovered. – MirrorOnline
