100 World War Two bombs dug up in Bangkok

Thai police show 100 WWII era bombs

More than 100 bombs that were found at a construction site are shown by police in Bangkok yesterday.

A shopping center construction site was cordoned off yesterday after a cache of World War II era practice bombs was uncovered by an excavator.

Deputy national police chief Srivara Ransibrahmanakul said the 98 BDU-33 practice bombs were buried about 1 meter deep.

It was likely they had been left there by US forces after World War II, Srivara said. — Reuters
