A terrified schoolgirl screamed ‘don’t drill into me’ as firefighters desperately tried to free her foot from a toilet.
The 10-year-old girl had reportedly got her foot stuck when she slipped while using the facility at her primary school in southern China.
A video clip shot by firefighters shows them trying to free her while the unnamed little girl howls in pain, with her left foot stuck firmly in the hole.
The emergency services workers are heard attempting to reassure the girl that she will be fine and ask her to stay brave.
She was reportedly freed a short while later and to have suffered no ill effects from her traumatic ordeal.
At least three fire and rescue workers are known to have attended the embarrassing emergency.
It was not reported how long it took them to free the little girl, or what method they used to do it.
Squat toilets are the norm in most China, especially in public bathrooms, though Western-style sitting toilets are the most common type in the large cities of Shanghai and Beijing.
