Muslim porn star quits after ISIS death threats

Mia Khalifa on why she quite pornography and ISIS death threats

Controversial ex porn star Mia Khalifa has told disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong she quit the adult film industry after receiving death threats from ISIS.

Lebanon-born Khalifa, 25, was threatened by the Islamic State after she wore a hijab in some X-rated scenes.

One sinister online message contained a manipulated image of an ISIS executioner preparing to behead the then 21-year-old.

Khalifa became a leading star on the video sharing website Pornhub during a successful spell as a porn actor from 2014 to 2015.

But the backlash prompted her to leave the industry, she told Armstrong on a recent episode of his podcast.

“Looking back on it I don’t know what I was thinking … I was 21 and dumb.”

Khalifa said it took her about two weeks to decide to do porn, but she now regretted it.

“I just wanted to let loose and rebel a little bit. It didn’t validate me. Nothing like that ever does. That’s not what you should be doing to try and build your self esteem.”

But she realises changing her image will be a tough task.

“If you put my name in [a computer] and Google it and open up 10 articles… every one of those articles starts ‘disgraced …’”

Armstrong who was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after a doping investigation and banned from cycling sympathized with Khalifa.

“There are plenty of kids that have taken pictures with me and their parents have posted it, then other parents have said ‘I can’t believe you let your kid take a picture with Lance Armstrong’. So I get it,” he told her.

Khalifa revealed she is now looking for a fresh start after moving from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas – Armstrong’s home town.
