British Airways flight from Bangkok to Heathrow makes emergency landing after a passenger falls ill on board.
A British Airways flight from Bangkok to London made an emergency landing at Heathrow airport tonight after a passenger fell ill on board.
The Boeing 777-236 jet carrying hundreds of passengers landed safely after declaring an emergency over southeastern England at the end of a 12-hour flight.
A British Airways spokesman told MailOnline the incident involved a medical emergency.
The airline said in a statement: ‘The safety of our customers and crew is always our priority.
‘Our highly trained pilots requested a priority landing in order that a customer could receive urgent medical attention.’
Last month, the engine of a British Airways plane burst into flames while taking off a runway at an airport in Arizona, forcing the packed aircraft to make an emergency landing.
The London bound-flight began to emit sparks from its engine during the journey.
BA later said in a statement that the problem had occurred after the Boeing 747 left the runway due to a technical issue with one of its four engines.
The plane was forced to return to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and landed safely. – Mailonline
