Three Thai women now face ‘grisly murder’ charges

The victim had been cut in half

Three Thai women who were accused of murdering a karaoke bar girl and mutilating her body have been arrested by Myanmar authorities and handed over to Thai immigration police.

Myanmar authorities handed over Priyanuch Nonwangchai, the prime suspect, and two friends – Kawita Rachada and Apiwan Satayabundit – to Thai police at the Mae Sai district border checkpoint at 9:30 pm.

They were accused of killing 22-year-old karaoke bar singer Warisara Klinjui, and fled to Myanmar via the Tachilek-Mae Sai checkpoint in Chiang Rai province last month.

Pha Mueang Taskforce Commander Col Kidakorn Chantra said the three suspects were being detained at the Mae Sai Immigration Office Saturday night.

The case made headlines for weeks because of the gruesome murder and suspicion that the prime suspect was linked to a major drug ring across the border.
