Speedboat drivers and crew arrested for smoking pot before driving tourists

Two boats were used in the raid that netted suspects from three separate speedboats.


Pattaya’s police chief yesterday announced the arrest of four speedboat drivers and crew for smoking marijuana.

The boat personnel were taking tourists to Koh Lan for day trips then while their passengers were enjoying the day on the island the crew were taking off to secluded spots to enjoy their day with a bong.

But Apichai Krobpetch, the Pattaya chief, said such behavior was bad for the image of tourism so tourist police and soldiers got together to do a raid.

Two boats were used in the raid that netted suspects from three separate speedboats.

Those arrested were named as Kiatsak Hormwit, 47, Theerasak Krajai, 23, Benjarong Sukhonthapong, 26 and forty four year old Prawit Plengwaja.

A quantity of dried ganja and a bong were taken into evidence.
