Malaysia – The High Court here today sent a 36-year-old Thai masseuse to the gallows for trafficking 1.45kg of methamphetamine in Bukit Kayu Hitam two years ago.
The accused, Nutchanad Jongjaroen, showed no reaction when Judicial Commissioner Abu Bakar Katar passed down the sentence.

Abu Bakar said the court was satisfied that the defense failed to raise reasonable doubt against the prosecution’s case.
The accused was represented by lawyer Ai Cha Ran while prosecution was handled by Norshuhada Mohd Yatim.
Nutchanad was caught with the drugs upon arriving at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Bukit Kayu Hitam about 12.40pm on July 23, 2014.
She was charged under Section 39(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death penalty.
